WebPosition Gold is a highly effective tool for checking your site's visibility. It most definitely beats the alternative of completing individual searches yourself.
The features of this software include:

This report will gather and return the following useful information:
- Concise Summary Report - An overview of how your site's visibility is doing
- Summary Description Report - Shows actual results from searches ran
- Alert! - Alerts any movement in ranking compared to prevously ran reports
- Trend Report - Your site's rankings over a period of time
- Competitive Analysis Report - Compares your site's rankings to one or more competitors' site(s)
- Log Report - Search parameters, list of completed searches and failed searches
- URL Submission Verification Report - verifies specified pages are listed
The following are the ones I find most valuable:
The 'Concise Summary Report' is great for obtaining an executive summary of how your site's ranking, if it's ranking and whether or not their's been any movement since the last ran report. This should be reviewed weekly, at minimum.
The 'Summary Description Report' can help you obtain a view of the site's listed before yours. Viewing their sites and page sources can give you an idea of how to improve your site (WITHOUT stealing their code).
The 'Alert!' report is a quick view of the engines and/or keywords where your site has increased or decreased in movement; as well as news regarding the engines themselves.
Set up the scheduler to run automatically once a week and never miss a report. Life gets too busy sometimes to remember to run a simple, yet highly important to your Internet Marketing campaign, report. The scheduler takes that excuse away. Set it up to run daily, weekly, or monthly; leave your computer on and the report runs for you.
